My favorite feature of the Nameless Performance Axleback on my 2019 Subaru WRX is the snap crackles and pops you can get out of it. Ive seen a few tutorial videos on youtube for getting the best out of the sound but they are over complicating it.. so here is the quick and effective tips for getting the pops and some sample videos below as well.
Tips for making your WRX crackle and pop:
1. You need an axleback exhaust without baffles. Baffles are tubes with holes inside the muffler of an exhaust. They will significantly dampen the sound if you have baffles. I use the nameless performance 5″ muffled axleback and it works well for this.
2. The engine needs to be warmed up. On top of being warmed up, it seems to work best if the car has been idling for a bit like at a red light.
3. First gear into second gear has the best crackles. Second into third has less but also works. Other gears dont seem to do it much.
How to get your WRX to pop:
You just get going in 1st gear and at about 4500 RPMs, you put let off the gas like you normally would while putting the clutch in. DONT shift yet. While the clutch is in and quickly after putting it in, you blip the throttle keeping it below the rev limiter. As the rpms drop down it should crackle and pop nicely. Then I shift to second and let out the clutch.
This first video is doing them in second gear into 3rd gear.
Below will be a first gear blip
