This is the alternative method to kapton tape which tends to be hard to apply and slide off if you need to unplug the drive down the road. This method is permenant and quick. Info brief: Server Hard Drives tend to not work on standard desktops because of a power disable mode that allows the drive to remotly be shut off if it locks up – handy on servers, not so useful outside of that. That 3rd pin in shown here needs to be covered with special tape or be removed for the drive to work in most desktops. Used server hard drives are cheap online so this is a great way to get a lot of storage for a low price.
