Working at a computer all day and especially working from home at a computer all day means a lot of sitting. There is no bathroom down the hall, 3-5 flights of stairs to get to your office space, no parking lot to walk through. It is great because you save a lot of time driving and have silence at home while working, but my step count at the end of each day was low. I ordered the Urevo Strol 3 3-in-1 Under Desk Treadmill with hopes of fitting it under my motorized desk to get steps in while I work.
When it arrived the box was very heavy weighing in at just over 90 pounds according to the tracking information. I could tell right away this was going to be a sturdy machine. It was well packaged with dense foam and no loose parts dangling around inside. I had no issues unboxing.
Setup could not be easier. There isnt actually anything to assemble. Once unboxed and unwrapped it was simply a case of verfying everything is safe putting batteries into the remote and turning it on.
One of the first things I did as a safety check was verify the belt was centered. Out of the box mine was set perfectly centered but if needed adjustment is done by using the supplied allen wrench and twisting the screws in or out on either side of the belt to adjust tension and centering.
Once setup, I put it to work. First testing it in the home office envorinment. The treadmill fit prefectly under my motorized desk. Using the remote control I did not have to worry about the controls on the machine being blocked by my desk.
The remote is actually a pretty cool little device. It isnt just a plain remote with buttons, it also has a screen which displays your current speed, distance, calories and time. After about 5 minutes the screen turns off but a quick touch wakes it back up to see your progress or make changes.
After a day of getting used to walking while working I was able to work the speed upto 3mph which is a 20 minute mile. This is a great speed for low impact exercise and the treadmill is sturdy and quiet while I work. If pushed higher, the treadmill isnt the problem – I am just not able to walk smoothly enough to avoid shaking my desk.
I usually walk an hour at a time and get about 3 miles in. Afterwards, the treadmill literally folds up in less than 2 seconds. You simply lift on the top part of the handle and it unlocks the arms to fold completely flat as shown in the photo above.
For storage, I just roll it into a closet in my home office and lean it on the wall.
Outside of using this under a desk it actually is a great treadmill for watching TV. Since it rolls around on wheels and fits through doorways I can easily bring it into my TV room and run or walk while watching.
Being 90 pounds, it is very sturdy when I run on it. I dont feel it wobbling or flexing where it shouldnt. It is a very comfortable size even for someone 6 feet tall.
