I do not know much about boats at this point, but I took this 12 foot aluminum V hull 1982 Sylvan boat with an 8hp Mariner engine in a trade. It was looking pretty rough when I picked it up so for now what I was able to do before winter hit was sand it down, repaint it and fix a little things wrong with it. I replaced the bolts around the boat since they were nearly crusted off. I replaced the wood board the engine mounts onto. I also polished the seats.

Since doing that I have had minimal testing since the boat was not registered yet and it was getting too cold out. I was able to run the engine in a bucket and also take it for about a 5 minute ride in the local lake. Ill add more to this post once summer comes.
